PEORIA, Ill. – A man accused of seriously injuring his infant son has pleaded not guilty.
25 News reports that 20-year-old Jaravion Nichols entered his plea during an arraignment hearing Thursday morning.
Nichols faces two charges of aggravated battery to a child.
He received his second charge through a grand jury indictment on Tuesday, which revealed he allegedly gave the infant brain damage from shaking him.
The incident was reported in December after Peoria Police learned a baby was dropped off in an emergency room in critical condition.
