PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – An Elmwood man has been arrested for numerous charges including alleged home repair fraud.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Christopher Sloan was arrested Thursday. He is charged with several counts of Home Repair Fraud, Theft, and Deceptive Practices.
Police say Sloan operates a business under the name Danco Heating and Cooling, with three victims so far alleging Sloan and home repair fraud.
Police allege that in one recent case, an elderly victim paid Sloan $3400 as a down payment for a new furnace. Sloan allegedly repeatedly scheduled installation dates, failed to show up, and offered various excuses.
The victim reportedly contacted police to file a report after more than a month of delays and unanswered calls.
