EAST PEORIA, Ill. — The lighting of Folepi’s Enchanted Forest in East Peoria has been rescheduled due to high winds earlier this week.
East Peoria’s Jill Peterson said the annual event in the Levee District (outside the East Peoria Civic Plaza, 401 W. Washington Street) was postponed from Saturday, November 30 to Friday, December 6.
High winds delayed the assembly of the 35-foot tall Christmas tree, lighted trees and displays, and the Terry the Tractor parade float.
The Caterpillar Employees Mixed Chorus is scheduled to sing carols at 5:45 p.m. At 6 p.m. Miss Festival of Lights 2019 Chloe Rogers will lead a countdown to light the 35-foot-tall Christmas tree. Santa will visit with children until 7:30 p.m.
After the tree lighting event, Folepi’s Enchanted Forest will be open from 5 until 9 p.m. nightly through December 31.
On Fridays December 13 and December 20 Santa will be at the forest from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., inside the Civic Plaza.
