CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – For the first time in nearly three decades, the Peoria Manual Rams are kings of the basketball court.
Manual defeated Quincy Notre Dame Saturday in the IHSA Class 2A boys’ basketball state championship game, 60-55.
Rams’ senior forward Jaquan Brown led all scorers with 23 points.
It’s the 6th state championship for Peoria Manual, and first since 1997, which came at the end of a run of four straight state titles.
A celebration is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Peoria Manual High School. A parade is scheduled prior to it at 3:00 P.M., weather permitting.
