BARTONVILLE, Ill. – Firefighters were called to a working fire in Bartonville Thursday afternoon in the area of Peru Avenue and Adams Street.
Fire Chief Drew Zachman said crews arrived around 4:30 p.m., finding heavy fire and smoking coming from the front and side doors of a home.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes. A dog was found dead inside the home. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Air National Guard, Limestone Fire Department and the West Peoria Fire Department helped fight the fire.
