PEORIA, Ill. – A 90-year-old man has been identified as the victim in a fatal pedestrian crash Tuesday afternoon in Bartonville.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Carlos Martinez suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries that were inconsistent with life.
The crash occurred near Bartonville Grade School on Keller St.
Harwood says Martinez was initially alert and conscious after the crash, but his condition rapidly deteriorated.
Martinez was taken to OSF Saint Franics unconscious, not breathing, and no pulse. Harwood says he was pronounced dead just before 2:30 P.M.
The crash remains under investigation.
