SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – It wasn’t just electrical shock that claimed the life of a Roanoke man who was one of five people initially injured putting up a gutter on a LaSalle County home.
That’s the finding of Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon, conducting an autopsy Wednesday on Seth Durand. 22. He died at a Springfield hospital Tuesday, one week after the accident near Streator, where a gutter being installed on a home came into contact with a power line.
Allmon says Durand suffered blunt force injuries to his head, as well as electrical burns.
At least some of the employees of Double L Seamless Gutters fell off the ladder when the electrocution happened.
Another of the victims was hospitalized in Peoria.
