PEORIA, Ill. – A single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning resulted in an SUV driving off the W. Harmon Highway overpass and into a construction area.
Peoria firefighters responded to the area of Harmon Highway overpass and S. Kickapoo Creek Road around 1:40 a.m., finding the lone occupant, an adult male, had gotten himself out of the vehicle before crews arrived. He was found on the north side embankment of the bridge.
Battalion Chief Josh Maroney said emergency personnel provided medical care to the patient before he was taken to OSF Saint Francis by AMT with non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters were assisted by the Peoria Drone Team, Peoria Police, and the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
