PEORIA, Ill. – Major construction work will start this week in another part of the Adams and Jefferson Streets two-way conversion project.
On Tuesday, the two far left lanes will be blocked on Jefferson between Interstate 74 and Kumpf Boulevard for resurfacing.
The City of Peoria is warning motorists to expect long-delays and consider alternate routes. The city says there will be no street parking allowed on the south side of Jefferson. Walnut St. will also be closed between Jefferson and Adams.
Starting on Monday, work will begin to widen Kickapoo-Edwards Road from the I-74 westbound ramps to about a quarter mile north of the ramps. The project is expected to last through July.
Nightly lane closures will take place in Havana on the Scott Lucas Memorial Bridge on Routes 136 and 78/97. The closures are needed to prepare for a rehabilitation project starting May 1st.
