PEORIA, Ill. – A man was arrested after shots were fired Thursday night in Peoria’s East Bluff.
Peoria Police says officers responded just before 9:15 P.M. to Wilcox and Wisconsin after reports of a shot fired, with another report in the same area minutes later.
A parked vehicle with two people inside was spotted by police upon arrival, with a handgun magazine reportedly in the lap of the driver, identified as 35-year-old Alfonso Ocampo.
Officers reportedly found a handgun inside the vehicle.
Ocampo was then arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without a valid FOID card, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a valid FOID card.
Ocampo was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
