PEORIA, Ill. – The victim in a homicide late Wednesday night at a South Peoria gas station has been identified.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says an autopsy on 23-year-old Marnelius Alexander of Peoria shows he suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and died instantly.
Harwood says Alexander was pronounced dead at 11:45 P.M. at the scene of the shooting. The shooting occurred at the Phillips 66 on Western Avenue.
The shooting remains under investigation by Peoria Police.
