PEORIA, Ill. — Three men, accused of being involved in Peoria’s two most recent homicides were given a $1 million bond over the weekend.
Desmond Sanders, 29, and Tyrese Walker, 20, were charged with first-degree murder Friday for the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Patrick Moton.
Moton was shot in the head outside the Dream Night Club on SW Washington Street.
Michael Vorrath, 63, was charged with first-degree murder. Vorrath is accused of drowning of his wife, 60-year-old Nancy Vorrath, in late November. He was arrested Friday.
All three men appeared in bond court Saturday. To be released from the Peoria County Jail, each suspect would have to post $100,000.
With 25 homicides, Peoria has seen its “deadliest year” to date in 2019.
