PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria received over two inches of snowfall Sunday night.
Sie Maroon, Assistant Public Works Director for the City of Peoria, said crews were busy treating and plowing the main routes overnight into Monday morning, working 12-hour shifts. Maroon said most of the City’s streets are wet, with some minimal snow cover.
“We’ll continue to see that improve now that there’s traffic, as well as the ground temperatures start to rise. So, we’ll see a lot more improvement from that as well,” Maroon said.
Since Peoria surpassed two inches of snow accumulation, the snow plows will be going into the residential areas Monday.
“We will continue plowing those all day today and into tonight, until we have them plowed curb-to-curb,” Maroon said.
The National Weather Service has released snowfall totals for the Peoria area: Peoria…2.5 to 3.4 inches, Canton…4.8 inches, Hanna City…3.3 inches, Farmington…1.1 inches, Roanoke…2.7 inches, Lewistown…2.3 inches, Manito…2.7 inches.
