PEORIA, Ill. — It’s been 15 years since the NHL’s Stanley Cup was last on display in Peoria. That changes this Saturday night.
“We’ve had it here before one time back in 2004, so this will be the second time it’s appeared,” said Peoria Rivermen General Manager Bart Rogers.
Rogers told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, fans just need a ticket to Saturday’s game with the Quad City Storm to get a photo taken with the Stanley Cup.
Rogers said the NHL trophy will be displayed on the Concourse in Section 4 from 6:15-9:30 p.m. at Carver Arena.
Rogers said there’s no charge for photos.
There’s a lot of buzz going into Saturday’s game with the Quad City Storm. Rivermen Coach Jean-Guy Trudel was recently named the team’s all-time winningest coach with over 271 wins.
“For me it’s about winning the next game. So, you don’t really think about records. I think it’s gonna be nice when I retire. When I’m a little older, and retired. Then I can look back. I think it was really special for my family,” Trudel said.
