PEORIA, Ill. – A youth sports coach has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child he coached, according to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s office.
Aydan Trueblood, 23, entered a guilty plea Wednesday to Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault. Under the plea agreement, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 30 years.
Bartonville police received a tip in November 2025 that Trueblood had engaged in inappropriate conduct with a minor who participated in a youth sports program he coached.
A forensic interview was conducted at the Children’s Advocacy Center, during which the victim disclosed that Trueblood had communicated with her through Snapchat. She told investigators she had left her home without her parents’ knowledge to meet him, and that he drove her to his family’s residence where the assault occurred.
When detectives interviewed Trueblood following his arrest in November 2025, he admitted to committing the assault in February 2025 and to sending explicit photographs to the victim.
Trueblood has remained in custody since his arrest. Sentencing is scheduled for October 28, 2026.
