TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. — A body found has been identified as 49 year old John Tyler Jr., who has been missing since December 6.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office said around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, a jogger on Schmidgall found the body of a deceased male.
According to a release from the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, the body was found off the road and could not have been seen by passing vehicles.
Tazewell County coroner Charles Hanley determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma. A Washington man is currently jailed in connection with the case.
The investigation continues by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Illinois State Police.
