CREVE COEUR, Ill. (25 News) – The Village of Creve Coeur is seeing changes at its Police Department after a trio of resignations announced on Monday.
Creve Coeur Mayor Fred Lang confirmed that police chief Justin Egan and deputy chief Dan Nelson, along with officer Dustin Ward, have resigned effective Aug. 21.
Lang said the department’s interim chief is Dale King.
No reason was given for the resignations.
“…The Village Board and I deemed these changes to be in the best interest of the Village and we have every confidence that Chief Dale King will provide strong leadership to move the department forward in a positive direction.”
The resignations come just over a month after Caitlynn Girkin, a former police officer, was arrested for first-degree murder. Her next court appearance is scheduled for late September.
