PEORIA, Ill. – Two arrests were made after a car was allegedly shot Thursday evening in Peoria.
Police say officers arrived just before 7:00 P.M., seeing a vehicle with front-end damage and damage consistent with gunshot strikes in the area of Creighton Terrace and Big Hollow.
The driver, 20-year-old Amari Smith, allegedly struck the rear of a vehicle driven by an adult female. Then 21-year-old Jalen Perez allegedly exited a residence and fired multiple shots towards Smith’s vehicle.
Perez was arrested and charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Smith was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property.
Perez and Smith were taken to the Peoria County Jail.
