SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — As of Wednesday, August 10, Illinois residents can get signed up for permanent mail-in voting.
New this time around, when you apply for a mail-in ballot for the November election, you can opt to make that a regular thing, according to State Board of Elections Spokesperson Matt Dietrich.
“Voters this month are going to be receiving a notice that they’re eligible, if they want, to be on a permanent vote-by-mail list. In which case, if you sign up for it, every election, you will get an application for your vote-by-mail ballot,” Dietrich said.
To request a mail-in ballot for the upcoming and future elections, go to elections-dot-il-dot-gov.

Ballots for the November elections will start going out to voters on September 29.
