PEORIA, Ill. — After another round of snow Thursday night, Peoria streets were wet and slushy Friday morning.
Sie Maroon, with Peoria Public Works, said the city’s road conditions were favorable for travel and the morning commute Friday.
“We were doing ‘pan and plow’ last night, which is a series of passes on the same street at the same time, to get them opened up and cleared up. They seem to be holding up pretty well right now heading into the rush hour,” Maroon said.
Maroon said Peoria Snow Fighters will maintain a focus on the arterial routes through most of Friday, and put off going into the residential areas until the snow stops.
“If we get a really nice break in the precipitation, then we would go into the residential areas sooner than later, but for now, we need to maintain the arterial routes,” Maroon said.
