PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Civic Center officials are feeling good about the future.
The Civic Center Authority Board has reached a five-year contract extension with management team ASM Global.
The arena was able to host 65 events last year, more than double what it hosted in 2018, and General Manager Rik Edgar attributes part of that achievement to ASM.
“In 2019, our primary goal was to bring more entertainment options into Peoria. We did that at historic levels. And, we’re proud of what we accomplished.
Edgar said in 2020, the Civic Center wants to build on that momentum.
“With this contract extension, it allows us to not only look short-term, but long-term on what we’re going to be able to do,” Edgar said.
ASM assumed the reigns of the Peoria Civic Center in October 2019, when the civic center’s longtime management company, SMG, merged with AEG Facilities to form ASM.
ASM manages over 300 venues across the world.
