PEKIN, Ill. — School officials of Broadmoor Junior High will ramp up extra police presence beginning on Monday.
An incident report to police indicated a student was approached by a male in a vehicle on school property around 6 p.m. Thursday.
Pekin police and school officials have identified the vehicle and driver being on the school property at the time of the incident.
Dr. Link, Superintendent of Schools, advised that school officials are cooperating with police to confirm the details of the situation. “The safety and well-being of our students is a top priority,” said Dr. Link.
Police say as a precaution, extra patrol vehicles will be staged at the school beginning next week.
