PEORIA, Ill. — The newly renovated Four Points by Sheraton Hotel opened for business Tuesday.
The hotel’s original building went up in 1956, with an addition in 1973. Four Points by Sheraton General Manager John Brinkman said bringing downtown Peoria’s largest hotel back after being shuttered for seven years, took a lot of work.
“All the modern technology, high-speed internet and the fire-life safety information, things we had to do there hasn’t been difficult, but you have to do it right,” Brinkman said.
Brinkman told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, because of how the facility was built decades ago, it will be around for a long time.
The hotel was shuttered in 2013. After years of renovation, it reopened needing a whole new staff.
“We’ve done the job fair. I think we mentioned that before in town. We’ve been very happy with our spots so far. But, we still have some key positions. We’d like to find some additional talent,” Brinkman said.
Individuals that want to apply with Hawkeye Hotels can get an application at Four Points by Sheraton’s front desk, or apply online HERE.
Brinkman said the hotel’s new Craft309 Kitchen+Bar offers classic American fare with a twist.
“A warm feeling with American type meals and menus. Chicken and waffles, steaks, chicken and fish. A fantastic bar with 30 different craft beers,” Brinkman said.
Brinkman said adding another dining option to downtown Peoria is good for everyone’s business.
