PEKIN, Ill. – A Pekin woman who was just sentenced to prison for Involuntary Manslaughter just had some more time tacked on to that.
Tazewell County Circuit Court records indicate Angel Vanduker, 21, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of Aggravated Battery of a Nurse, and was given two years in prison.
It will be served in addition to the nine years she already was ordered to serve, but will also include credit for 172 days served in jail.
Vanduker allegedly bit the finger of a nurse in February of last year.
Vanduker — who just gave birth to a baby that is currently in DCFS custody — pleaded guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter for suffocating her 11-month-old daughter Nova in 2020.
