PEORIA, Ill. — Thursday morning’s commute shouldn’t be too bad, according to Sie Maroon with Peoria Public Works.
As of 5 a.m. Thursday, Peoria’s arterial routes were mostly slushy and wet with some snow pack and pavement showing.
Maroon said crews were busy Wednesday night treating and plowing the main roads, which he describes as “mostly passable.”
“There may be some slick spots that travelers may encounter. We just encourage them to go slow, so they can get to where they need to go,” Maroon said.
Maroon said crews will stay focused on Peoria’s arterial routes through Thursday morning, staying out of the residential areas.
“Since there’s been some snow melt, there isn’t two inches of snow on the residential streets at this time. We’ll evaluate the situation as the day goes on,” Maroon said.
