PEKIN, Ill. — 63-year-old David Mason faces several charges, including DUI and resisting arrest, after crashing into Pekin Community High School Wednesday night.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office said Mason was found unresponsive in a car behind Godfather’s Pizza just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Deputies pulled up behind Mason’s vehicle and flashed their lights before he sped off and crashed into the school.
The Sheriff’s Office said Mason refused to put the car in park or get out of the vehicle.
Pekin firefighters broke the car window and removed him from the vehicle.
Mason was checked out at a local hospital. He had no injuries.
Mason is scheduled to be in court on March 5.
