PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have now arrested three teenagers after Peoria Stadium was evacuated during a brawl last Friday night.
On Monday, a 17-year-old was arrested for mob action and transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center in connection with Friday’s fight during Peoria High School’s football game with Metamora.
A 15-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested on Tuesday for mob action and taken to the JDC.
All three teens are District 150 students.
After the fight broke out in the stands Friday night, the game was postponed to Saturday, but Metamora decided to forfeit rather than continue the game.
Peoria High was leading 34-16 in the second quarter when the brawl occurred.
PPS officers banged their batons on the metal bleachers in the midst of the fight. The noise caused those in attendance to scatter and evacuate the stadium.
Peoria Public Schools released new guidance for athletic event attendance on Tuesday in response to the fight Friday night.
Peoria Police and PPS Police are still investigating the incident.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Peoria Police Juvenile Detective Irving at (309) 494-8368, tip411 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (309) 673-9000.
