PEORIA, Ill. — The Greater Peoria Business Alliance has intensified its search for the next President and CEO of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and CEO Council.
The GPBA on Monday announced it was enlisting the help of Toledo, Ohio-based national search firm Waverly Partners.
CEO Council Chairwoman Cindy Loos said in early January the local six-member search committee would look through résumés it had received and then decide whether or not to hire an outside firm to help conduct the search.
“We’re looking for someone to serve as a leader, to maximize regional collaboration and the common division we started with The Big Table,” she said.
“That’s the big driver.”
The Immediate Past President and CEO, Jeff Griffin, resigned effective Jan. 17 when he assumed a similar role in Sioux Falls, SD.
Loos said the job duties of the next Chamber leader will be similar to those Griffin fulfilled.
“Someone who can be a real leader in the community and gain the respect of not only the business community, but also the local politicans they will serve with,” she said.
