EAST PEORIA, Ill. — East Peoria Police continued an investigation Wednesday into a Tuesday morning 9-1-1 call.
Emergency crews arrived at 9:10 to a Jefferson Court home regarding a four-year-old the 9-1-1 caller said was going into cardiac arrest.
Two minutes later, the EPPD was called to the scene because of injuries on the child the first responders observed.
The child was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center and remained there as of Wednesday afternoon.
Detective Sgt. Brian Despines said the department was conducting interviews with people close to the child.
No suspects had been taken into custody.
