PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man with an arrest history dating back to 1996 will be back in court later this month after being charged in connection to a car accident following a stabbing.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says Deandre Franklin, 44, was jailed Friday afternoon on several charges. Since then, Franklin was formally charged with only Aggravated Battery.
Deputies responded to Laramie and Tonti Circle in South Peoria around 4:00 p.m. Friday after the vehicle he and a 39-year-old male victim were in crashed. That was caused after Franklin allegedly stabbed the victim in the parking lot of Laramie Liquors, then started to take him to the hospital.
The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening. A court date is set for September 22nd. Franklin is out of jail on bond.
