PEORIA, Ill. — A polling location in Tazewell County has been moved over concerns of COVID-19.
Tazewell County Clerk John Ackerman said the location is in Washington.
“It is Washington Precinct 12. Which was located at Leisure Acres Senior Living Facility, it has been moved to Roland Manor Baptist Church,” Ackerman said.
The new location is only a few blocks away from Leisure Acres.
“So, it won’t be much of a distance factor,” Ackerman said.
All 799 residents in that precinct will receive new temporary voter registration cards in the mail with the new location.
There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Tazewell County. Ackerman said moving the location is a precaution.
“It’s a senior living facility,” Ackerman said. “And, they’ve restricted access to their facility because of concerns over coronavirus.”
