PEKIN, Ill. — Out of an abundance of caution in response to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Pekin will be closing access to City Hall and other City facilities to the general public starting Monday, March 16.
The action is being taken in support of a policy of “social distancing” that will help reduce burdens on healthcare facilities and first-responders should COVID-19 reach Tazewell County.
While access to City of Pekin facilities are closed to the public, City services are still available and accessible.
Payment of utility bills can be done by mail, online or by drop box at 500 Elizabeth Street.
City departments that the public can still contact to receive services, such as licenses or permits include:
City Clerk (309) 477-2300
Building and Inspections (309) 477-2300
Police Department (non-emergency) (309) 346-3132
Fire Department (non-emergency) (309) 346-2121.
