SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The looting and criminal damage occurring in Illinois communities since the weekend seemed to be organized by groups of young adults.
According to the Illinois State Police, during their investigation, officials have discovered a pattern being used against local communities.
I-S-P Director Brendan Kelly says groups of the age of 17 to 25 seem to be communicating on social media and targeting specific businesses.
“We have seen this play out with some groups traveling around to different communities.” said Kelly.
I-S-P officials do not think there is a main person or large organization driving these small groups.
