EAST PEORIA, Ill. – A fire caused tense moments at East Peoria’s Harbor Pointe.
East Peoria Fire Fighters responded around 7 p.m. Wednesday to a working fire with heavy smoke in one of the dwellings off of North Main on Mariners Way.
East Peoria Assistant Chief Kim Riggenbach said a woman was trapped outside on a third level back deck due to the heavy smoke inside.
“The woman was rescued via a ladder as fire crews made quick work in containing the blaze in the kitchen on the second level of the residence.” said Chief Riggenbach.
Fire Fighters from Creve Coeur and Northern Tazewell responded to scene to assist.
No report of any injuries.
The fire remains under investigation.
