PEORIA, Ill. – A man was arrested and charged to a related stabbing in downtown Peoria.
Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday police responded to the area of Shelley and Antionette regarding a report of a vehicle that struck a pole and then drove off.
Around 7:25 p.m. officers then responded to Bryan and Jefferson to a report of a man that suffered a stab wound to the chest.
According to Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, the man was transported to a local hospital where he was reported to be in critical condition.
After gathering information, detectives determined that the stabbing occurred at the scene of the hit and run on Shelley and Antionette.
Officer Dotson said the suspect, William L. Force, 48, later turned himself in at the East Peoria Police Department.
Force was transported to the Peoria Police Department Criminal Investigations Division for an interview by detectives.
He was then arrested for Aggravated Battery and transported to the Peoria County Jail.
