PEORIA, Ill. — One less Peoria location to pick up a cheese burger meal.
The McDonald’s located on Main Street near the Bradley University campus is out of business.
A sign was posted at the business informing customers that the restaurant as of August 1st would be permanently closed.
No official notification was given if the closure is related to Covid-19.
According to FOX Business News, the company was reporting to close 200 locations nationwide.
McDonald’s expects to permanently close 200 of its U.S. locations this year, over half of which are located within Walmart stores where sales have fallen.
The move was described as an “acceleration of closings” that were originally planned for future years, according to a regulatory filing. Even after the planned closures, however, the company is projected to see a net gain of 350 stores by years’ end, the filing stated.
