SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois between Wednesday and Thursday broke the 7 million-test mark, as 80,977 people were tested for COVID-19 during that period.
Also during the reporting period, 4,942 people received word they’d tested positive for the virus, and 44 deaths were reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
2,463 people as of Wednesday night were in Illinois hospitals with the virus or with possible cases of the virus. 525 intensive care unit beds were being occupied by virus patients, while 212 patients required the use of a ventilator.
The state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate remained 5.7%.
