PEKIN,Ill. — Pekin Police were called to the area of 18th and Market Streets just before 9 p.m. Thursday on reports of a male being stabbed.
Two male suspects fled the scene, but were located a short time later by police in the 1600 block of Broadway, according to Pekin Public Information Officer Billie Ingles.
The 18-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested Joshua Ubell, 29, and Edward Youmans, 36, for aggravated battery and mob action. They were taken to the Tazewell County Justice Center after their arrests.
Ingles said it appeared to be a random act of violence.
“The two men taken into custody, apparently, were walking down 20th St., some words were exchanged, and an altercation took place,” she said.
The case Friday afternoon remained under investigation.
