SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois’s 24-hour COVID-19 case count from Tuesday to Wednesday surpassed 6,000, setting yet another one-day record.
Along with the 6,110 positives were 51 reported deaths.
Labs during the reporting period collected 70,752 specimens, and the state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate hit 6.7%.
2,861 people throughout the state as of Tuesday night were hospitalized because of the virus. An even 600 of them were in intensive care, and 243 required the use of ventilators.
