PEORIA, Ill. — There was significant COVID-19 activity to report between Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the entirety of the Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county.
In Woodford County, a man in his 80s passed away from complications related to the virus. He did not live in long-term care and did have comorbidities.
Three long-term care facility residents in Peoria County passed away: two females from Heritage Health in Chillicothe, one in her 80s and one in her 90s, as well as a woman in her 90s who lived at Evergreen.
While Tazewell County didn’t report any deaths, it did report 17 new cases at Federal Correctional Institution, which has seen 109 cases since late September, when its ongoing outbreak began.
The county as a whole had 77 newly active cases. Peoria was just behind with 69, and Woodford reported 18 positives.
Hospitalizations sat at 79, with 21 of them intensive care-level.
The area’s recovery rate fell down to 81.71%.
Region 2’s rolling seven-day positivity rate rose to 7.7%.
