PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria City/County Health Department on Wednesday reported a COVID-19 outbreak at Sharon Healthcare Pines.
40 of Peoria County’s 116 new cases came from the facility.
Tazewell County reported 72 new cases, while Woodford added 30.
Three Peoria County residents passed away from complications related to the virus: a male in his 90s who lived at Christian Buehler, a woman in her 90s who lived at Heritage Health in Chillicothe, and a female in her 80s who did not live in long-term care.
In Tazewell County, a woman in her 90s died who lived at Generations at Riverview in East Peoria.
104 people were in area hospitals with the virus. Of those patients, 29 were in intensive care.
The area’s recovery rate went marginally down, to 78.41%.
On the day Region Two went into mitigation status, the region’s rolling seven-day positivity rate rose to 10.1%. In order for the sanctions to be lifted, that metric must go down to 6.5% or lower for three consecutive days or more.
