SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois between Tuesday and Wednesday set another 24-hour COVID-19 record.
12,657 people received positive test results. 145 deaths were reported during that time.
Illinois Department of Public Health said laboratories throughout the state collected 93,464 specimens to be tested for COVID.
The rolling seven-day positivity rate reached 12.4%.
5,042 people who either have the virus or have a suspected case of it as of Tuesday night were in hospitals. 951 of these patients were in intensive care, while 404 required breathing assistance from a ventilator.
