PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Park District Executive Director announced numerous changes to Peoria Park District buildings and activities at the Wednesday night board meeting.
Gov. Pritkzer announced the return to tier three mitigation Tuesday with changes going into effect Friday at midnight.
“We have spent [Tuesday] afternoon and all day [Wednesday] trying to figure out partially what some of the regulations mean and how they apply to our district,” said Cahill.
According to Cahill, all essential functions of the park district will continue. In addition, the park district is continuing to require employees to wear face coverings while outside of individual work spaces and anytime when physical distancing is not possible.
All parks and trails will remain open to the public with a maximum group size of 10, per the new guidance from Pritzker.
IDPH and Gov. Pritkzer are also requiring face coverings for group recreation activities, so the Peoria Park District will continue to strongly suggest people do so when at a park or trail, according to Cahill.
The other COVID mitigations being put in place by the park district are as follows:
Camp Wokanda: Indoor Rentals in cabins and lodges is suspended. Outdoor tent camping for families with group sizes of less than 10 will be offered for now.
