SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois’s Sunday-Monday COVID-19 reporting period saw 8,322 people receive positive test results.
47 people across the state during that time were reported to have died.
The Illinois Department of Public Health said 91,562 specimens were collected by labs throughout the state. The state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate fell to 10.9%.
6,171 of the state’s total hospital beds were being used for virus patients, or for patients suspected to have the virus. 1,206 of those patients were in intensive care, and over half in ICU — 635 — needed the assistance of ventilators to breathe.
