WEST DES MOINES, Ia. — Hy-Vee stores are recalling two products due to possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes.
The products are Hy-Vee Short Cuts Pot Roast Mix (UPC Code 0272083305352) and Hy-Vee Short Cuts Grill/Oven Ready Veggie Mix (UPC Code 0272104105992).
In a statement, Hy-Vee officials said no illnesses have been reported, but the potential for contamination was discovered during a routine sampling at a production facility.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause infections in young children, elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms may include a high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
All affected products have a “Best if Used By” date of Dec. 3rd, 2020.
Customers who purchased the products are asked to throw them out or returns them to their Hy-Vee store.
