SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State COVID-19 hospitalizations fell between Wednesday and Thursday by triple digits.
The daily Illinois Department of Public Health report showed 5,653 in beds throughout the state. However, intensive care occupancy remained high, with 1,170.
693 people were using ventilators to help them breathe.
Overall, 10,959 people tested positive between Wednesday and Thursday for the virus, and 192 deaths were reported.
Labs throughout the state reported a total collection of 106,778 specimens. The state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate dropped slightly, to 10.4%.
