PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department reported 429 new coronavirus cases and five additional deaths between Wednesday and Thursday related to COVID-19.
In Woodford County, two Apostolic Christian residents succumbed: a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s.
Peoria County’s deaths were spread out, as a man in his 50s who lived at Sharon Elms passed away, as did a woman in her 100s who resided at Lutheran Hillside.
A Peoria County woman in her 70s also died. She was not reported to have lived in long-term care.
Peoria County had an increase of 187 from Wednesday. Tazewell County reported a 19- case increase from the previous day. while Woodford County recorded an increase of 50.
168 people were hospitalized as of Thursday, a two-person decrease from Wednesday. 49 of those patients were in intensive care.
After a slight increase on Wednesday, Region Two’s rolling seven-day positivity rate went back down to 13.1%.
The area’s recovery rate was right around the 66% mark.
