PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department Friday reported seven new Tazewell County deaths due to COVID-19.
There were eight deaths in the tri-county overall in the last 24 hours, with the other one being a Peoria County woman in her 80s who resided at Heritage Health.
Three of the seven Tazewell deaths were residents of Washington Senior Living, and the other four were not associated with a long-term care facility.
With those eight deaths considered, there have been 277 that have succumbed to the virus in the tri-county since the pandemic began.
Overall, there were 356 new cases in the area since Thursday.
Peoria County reported 190 new cases, Tazewell reported 130 and Woodford reported 36.
The number of patients in area hospitals did drop again, and six fewer people were hospitalized Friday compared to Thursday.
There were, however, four additional people in area ICUs with the virus.
The recovered rate dropped three-quarters of a percent in the last 24 hours and now sits at 65.16%.
The home isolating rate went up nearly three-quarters of a percent and is now at 32.8%.
The hospitalized rate was up very slightly and is now at .47%.
