PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police were called around 9:40 p.m. Saturday to the Elevate Trampoline Park on N. Allen Road for a fight involving a large group of juveniles inside the business.
Upon arrival, officers saw multiple people leave the building and a large group actively fighting, mostly punching and pulling hair.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said a responding officer smelled what he believed to be pepper spray inside the business.
“At no time did PPD deploy pepper balls or pepper spray of any kind,” Dotson said.
Police were able to disperse the crowd. But, once outside, more fighting broke out and officers had to get involved again.
PPD stayed on the scene until all of the juveniles were picked up by their parents.
AMT and the Peoria Fire Department were on scene for medical treatment. Police said one parent “reported her child was attacked but refused medical treatment.”
Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage to try to determine the cause of the fights and to determine who instigated the fight.
No juveniles were taken into custody.
Police are asking anyone with footage or information regarding the cause of the fight or those involved to call Peoria Police at (309) 673-4521 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, at (309) 673-9000.
