PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have arrested two juveniles that were hiding out in Peoria after burglarizing a store in Galesburg in January.
Both juveniles, aged 15 and 17, had First Degree Murder warrants issued out of Knox County.
The Peoria Police Special Investigations Division (PPD SID) developed information Tuesday that led to the location of the 17-year-old suspect.
PPD SID officers saw a group of individuals in the 1800 block of S. Griswold, in which they recognized one of the individuals as the wanted 17-year-old.
As officers approached the suspect, two of the other males in the group made movement towards their waistbands and took off running.
Officers chased the fleeing males and arrested 20-year-old Shaquille Brown and a 15-year-old male that was separate from the one wanted for burglary in Galesburg.
Brown was arrested on the following charges:
• Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
• Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon
• Unlawful Possession of a Handgun
• No FOID
• Obstructing an Officer
• Peoria County Warrant – Possession of a Weapon by a Felon ($10,000 bond)
• Bond information: $200,000
• Illinois Department of Corrections Hold
The United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, along with PPD SID, Thursday learned the whereabouts of the 15-year-old wanted for burglary.
The juvenile was taken into custody just before 12:30 p.m. for the First Degree Murder Warrant out of Knox County as well as a no bond Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Warrant.
